The St. Joseph Invite was held on Lake Michigan in light 3-5 knot winds on a beautiful sunny day with temps up to 80 degrees. To find more consistent breeze and less interference from powerboats the race course was set up about a mile off the pier heads. Rotations were completed on the water using coach boats which allowed for fast boat exchanges.
The teams of Grand Haven & Black River raced closely at the top of the fleet all day and were only separated by one point in the end with Grand Haven taking the win with a total of 26 points for the 6 races completed in each division. In third place was West Ottawa and coming in fourth was the host team St. Joseph.
This was the first high school regatta hosted by St. Joseph and overall it was a success thanks to the many parent volunteers. We will look forward to growing the event next year. Thanks to all of the teams that attended. We hope to see you back next year!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
