Turkey Leg Regatta

Sailors braved treacherous roads the morning of November 10, 2018 to arrive at the Turkey Leg. A number of teams had sailors who backed out at the last minute, creating chaos in team assignments. A quick game of Sailor Swap Shuffle was played by coaches and we settled in at 25 teams, down from the 30 registered. The high winds subsided during the postponement and the first race of A Division began at 11:19am. The wind held steady throughout the day with intermittent snow showers. Food was awesome and everyone enjoyed some great sailing and spectating. 6 races were completed in both A and B Division. A huge thanks to all of the Spring Lake parents who worked their tails off getting the club ready, salting slippery surfaces, organizing parking, organizing all of the FOOD and awesome Turkey leg socks and other cool awards, and being on the water all day long in 32 degree weather to make this regatta possible for all of these sailors!
