2019 Allstate Sugar Bowl Great Oaks Regatta GREEN

Summary

Saturday, November 23:

Sailors arrived at Southern Yacht Club for the first day of the 2019 Allstate Sugar Bowl Great Oaks Regatta expecting to have a postponement due to predicted storms and heavy winds. They were treated to beignets donated by the famed Cafe du Monde to tide them over during the delay. But the heavy wind expected for the day never materialized, and the 14 high school sailing teams sailed in unexpectedly calm and beautiful conditions. The teams, representing schools from SEISA, MASSA, SAISA, MISSA and NESSA districts sailed 12 races in steady 8-10 knots.

PRO Nathan Adams and judges Karen Reisch, Lloyd Causey, Mamie Manard and Anne David felt the competition went smoothly.

Teams will be divided into silver and gold fleets for the championship round Sunday morning.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
