CofC Invitational

Summary

Saturday, November 9:

Conditions were solid, we had breeze out of the North at 5-12 knots all day. In the morning we had an outgoing tide that was in line with the breeze, afternoon it swapped over but we were able to continue racing throughout the day. CofC team captain and PRO Patrick Shannon did a great job keeping things moving and the courses squared throughout a long day of racing. With only one short bathroom break and rotations on the water we were able to get 14 races in both divisions completed just prior to sunset. Teams from up and down the top ten were able to get race wins showing the overall strength of the fleet.

Sunday, November 10:

Light winds that were forecast to die by noon pushed the RC to move around the corner and into lighter currents on Crab Bank. This was a good decision as it allowed us to get 4 more races in each division and complete the set. Immaculate La Salle was immaculate again and maintained their lead from day one despite a solid push from Antilles who sailed a beautiful event as well. Overall we were really happy with the level of competition, local teams mixed it up but also learned a great deal throughout. We are happy to be hosting the regional fleet race quals for HS Nationals in the spring and look forward to hosting this regatta again next fall.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
