Lake St. Clair Classic Fall Team Race

Sailors arrived the GPYC Sailing Center at 8:30AM to warmer temperatures, however, it was raining. At the Competitor’s Meeting, the Team Racing format was discussed. The umpire Lance Smotherman was introduced and the flag system for judging was described in detail. The Team Racing combinations that produce a winning combination were discussed. 27 races were completed which included a gold round of 6 races at the finale. The sun came out and the Southwest winds increased. The following places were awarded: First place to Grosse Pointe South Blue, Second place to Cranbrook Kingswood Blue, Third place to Grosse Pointe South White (mixed), and Fourth place to Grosse Pointe South Gold.
