MISSA Keelboat Qualifier

Summary

Saturday, October 5:

Saturday began cool with a light breeze from the east of 4 kts. and partly cloudy skies. The Race Committee postponed, believing that a southerly would fill in. By 1030 the wind shifted to the south east at 6 kts. and racing was started on a trapezoid course to accommodate both the 420 fleet and the Keelboat Championship fleet. During the day the wind steadily built to 8-10 kts. with oscillating shifts of 5-10 degrees. By late afternoon the breeze was very steady, so racing starts were extended to take advantage of the ideal conditions. A total of 8 races were run on a W4 course. All keelboats used their symmetrical spinnakers, providing a beautiful view for specatators. The evening bonfire featured a little intermittent rain, but was well attended by several teams. All in attendance had a good time visiting with each other.

Sunday, October 6:

Sunday racing began with an 6 kt. north west breeze, and clear skies. During the morning the wind slowly diminished. Keelboat started a W4 on the trapezoid course, the wind faded as the race progressed. With only one keelboat race to go, RC decided to finish the regatta with a W3 upwind finish for a shorter course in the light wind. 420 B fleet was rotated in for the last race of the day for 420's. After finishing 420 B and Keelboat, the RC called it a regatta. There were 10 total races run over two days of sailing, bye scores were dropped for the final standings. Thank you to all the coaches and support staff helping to make this a successful event.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
