The event hosted on Lake Allatoona at the Atlanta Yacht Club was completed with 12 races completed by 6 teams. We had a team from Charleston not able to attend because of Dorian, and another registered team made up a composite team when they were short some competitors.
The day started with warm and calm conditions, prompting AP to be up for a half hour prior to the first race of the day. Teams did a fantastic job with quick rotations to get in the number of races we did by the end of the day. After lunchtime, we had 8-10 mph and building towards the end of the day. No capsizes or damages, but all smiles for the teams that made the trip for the second HS regatta ever hosted by AYC.
Congratulations to the Atlanta Classical Academy Cavaliers for winning this event! Good luck to all of the teams both new and experienced who are starting their Fall sailing seasons. See you again soon!
