The St. Joseph Invite Regatta started the day with favorable weather conditions with sunny skies and 10-15mph winds out of the West. We hoped for great open water sailing on the big lake but unfortunately due to much higher winds overnight the waves on Lake Michigan were too large to allow for on-water rotations so the decision was made to sail the regatta on the inner harbor near the Inn at Harbor Shores Hotel. This venue while not the open water sailing we all hoped for did allow for great racing and great spectator viewing.
Seven teams competed in the regatta and competition was tight. We completed 8 races for each division with several lead changes throughout the day. Winning A Division was Black River with 20 points followed closely by Holland Christian with 21 Points and West Ottawa in third with 25 points. Winning B Division was West Ottawa with 18 points followed by Holland Christian with 20 points and St. Joseph in third with 23 points. Holland Christian was crowned the overall team champion with 41 points. In second was West Ottawa with 43 points. Third place was a tie between Black River & St. Joseph with 52 points and Black River won the tiebreaker.
Thanks to all of the volunteers, sailors and parents that made this another successful regatta.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
