November sailing in Michigan is always an adventure! This year we were not required to clear any snow off the boats prior to the event, and the weather gave us a good start.
30 teams made there way to the start line for our first race at 10am. The wind picked up through the day creating a chaotic exchange at the dock for the last rotation. After a postponment of the races due to high winds, the coaches called it day. While we only got 4 races in the A division and 3 races in B division, everyone enjoyed the warm fire and a sailing family turkey dinner.
Thanks to all the teams that brought boats, and thanks to all the teams that traveled to participate in the event. A huge thanks to all of the Spring Lake parents who worked their tails off getting the club ready, organizing parking, organizing all of the FOOD and awesome Turkey leg awards, and being on the water all day long in 40 degree weather to make this regatta possible for all of these sailors!
The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
