VISA JV Fleet Championship

Summary

Saturday, October 26:

For the season championship, twenty-two varsity teams from fifteen schools and nineteen Junior Varsity teams from eight schools met on the Lafayette River for their final league competition of the year. Seas were flat with an initial ENE breeze of about 6mph gusting to just 9. By 11:30, varsity having completed 2 A and 1 B race, and JV having completed 4 races, the breeze took leave and the fleet adjourned to a shore postponement. Racing resumed after about 3 hours (1:30PM) With winds at ENE 11-13, gusting to 17mph for the remainder of the afternoon.

Varsity accomplished 4 W-4/W-3 races in each of two divisions, and JV completed 7 single division W-4 races.

Capturing first place on the varsity course is Christchurch School, followed by Norfolk Academy in second place, and Norfolk Collegiate School in third place.

On the JV course, Norfolk Academy captured first place, followed by Nansemond-Suffolk Academy in second place and Poquoson High School in third place.
