Charleston Area SSL #3

Summary

Saturday, October 24:

Another Covid free regatta without skippers meeting or awards and no rotations. Each team kept the same boats from start to finish. The coaches ran the show with some help from a couple parents as safety boats. 6 teams represented with a total of 19 boats on the start line. With the coaches in touch on a text chain the racing was postponed two hours and thankfully the wind cooporated. Averaged 8 to 10 knots from the east. 5 races were run in perfect conditions. Last race to be sailed was the 5th because we had 2 general recalls on our 6th race that held us up after 4:30 drop dead time. We wanted the boats to be able to get back to CCS before the current got too strong. Great job by everyone. Mostly clean racing, no protests, and we saw some circles taken. We had 4 James Island YC Boats, 4 Carolina YC boats, and 11 Charleston Community Sailing boats. This was our second attempt in our post Covid era and another success. We hope to have another one in November so make sure to keep looking out for it.

Sail fast, often, and have fun!

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
