MISSA Ohio Great Lakes Qualifier

Summary

Saturday, October 9:

An amazing fall day on the water in Columbus as 10 teams battled for 4 qualification spots for our fall championship events. 4 teams from Cleveland, 3 from Hoover and 3 from Leatherlips enjoyed sunny skies, light southerly breezes increasing to 5-8 knots in the afternoon and great race management from Gunnar Gode (NAHS). We were actually able to run A and B in our fleet at the same time keeping the sailors on their toes and the down time to a minimum. A full round robin of 10a and 10b races were completed Saturday with no breakdowns and no protests filed. When it was all settled, Bay showed us all how it was done winning A, B and overall by a large margin. Congratulations to St. Ignatius for sealing up the 2nd GLC berth and to Rocky River and New Albany for securing the Shepherd berths.

Special thanks go to Dave Alvarado (WNHS), Angie Shaw (OOHS) and Gunnar Gode (NAHS) for managing the event during the day.

Sunday, October 10:

Racing completed on Saturday.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
