NJISA 2021 BBYRA Fall Invitational

Summary

Sunday, September 26:

The third annual BBYRA Fall Invitational saw 15 teams from 11 schools compete for the Rooster Flag, a tradition on the Barnegat Bay for over 100 years.

Sailors had ideal conditions for much of the racing, with the breeze ranging from 8 to 15 knots from the northwest trending more west later in the day. Overall, 20 W4 races were completed with 10 in each division.

Christian Brothers Academy took the early lead and used consistent sailing in the B Division to outlast the fleet, winning the event for the second consecutive fall season. Second through fourth place were tightly contested, as Toms River North finished with 89 points, Donovan Catholic netted 90 points, and CBA's second team had 96 points.

In the A Division, Delbarton's James O'Gwen and Julien Dietrich edged Toms River North's Everett Botwinick and Scott Tedeschi by three points. B Division was won by CBA's Colin Guerrera and Nicholas Cuhna by 16 points.

Thank you to Dr. Nunn for serving as the PRO, Dave Magno for setting the marks, and Jason Lutz for patrolling the course. Our thanks as always to TRYC for welcoming us to the facility and the BBYRA for the continued partnership with the FJ fleet.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
