The 2022 Kick Off Classic was held by Sheridan Shore Sailing School in Wilmette, Illinois. Special thanks to PRO Wes Madara, and Judge Dennis Bartley. Also to our wonderful volunteers including: Shane McDaniel, Joe Nedoss, Tom Elliot, Scott Zemaitis, Lucy Elvart, and Nora Donahue. Also a big thanks to the host Wilmette Harbor Club, Hyde Perce, and Jeri Traub. Finally thank you to all the coaches, parents, and competitors who came to sail and help.
Saturday began with light Westerly winds, which quickly shifted over 90 degrees to SSE. After the wind filled in, there was a 10 kt average. Racing lasted until 2:30pm completing 10 races, 5 for each division.
Sunday showed up with thunderstorms and heavy north winds. The decision was made to cancel for the day.
Congratulations to Jones College Prep in first place, Latin School in second, and UC Lab in third. Thank you again to all our volunteers making the regatta run for everyone.
