MASSA Fall Gold Fleet Champs [ACC Qualifier]

Summary

Saturday, October 15:

18 teams showed up on time to shuttle out to The Stony Brook School floating dock. The day started off in AP for almost two hours. As a small breeze settled in from the East, a race was started and then abandoned at 12:02 pm after a 180 degree wind shift. The wind settled into Southwest and after the course was reset boats were racing 20 minutes later. The breeze slowly increased throughout the day. A total of 6 races in each fleet were sailed. The last B race was complete by 5:16pm. Severn Admirals take the lead for day one! Big thanks to the Stony Brook crew and the committee George Becza and Ann-Marie!

Sunday, October 16:

A light northerly filled in early and went north-east for the first set of races. Only two sets were able to be sailed. A fleet started the day of with some rowdy action by the pin in the light winds for a general recall. The final A fleet--the start of the third set, was abandoned due to a 90 degree shift. After a brief waiting period and an attempted new course, racing was finished for the day at 1:10 pm. It was a challenging day to get as many races as were expected, but we'll take what we get! Congrats to the 6 teams that advance to the ACCs and to Severn with a 32 point lead--Nice Racing!

Thanks to The Stony Brook Regatta crew and Committee!!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
