Sailors endured sunny weather and light-wind conditions throughout the day with two sets of rotations for a total of 8 races. The morning ESE breeze died off as sailors arrived on the course at 1000 hours. Then after a brief postponement, the wind shifted and filled in from the west. The westerly angle held throughout the remainder of the morning and afternoon, ranging from a steady 6-8 kts to a more inconsistent 2-3 kts by mid-afternoon. Sailors were able to complete the eighth race just before the breeze completely evaporated for the remainder of the day. We are optimistically looking forward to more racing and stronger winds tomorrow.
Day two provided competitive conditions for sailors with 14 races sailed, bringing the total up to 22 races this weekend. The breeze shifted throughout the morning, oscillating between north and east at 5-8 kts. After noon, the breeze began to clock towards the north, resulting in tactically challenging and gusty conditions. Wind speeds picked up to 15 kts at times, providing a variety throughout the weekend.
