MDISA Keelboat Qualifier @ Annapolis Yacht Club

Tuesday, September 27:

The State of MARYLAND's MDISA League held a two day Keelboat Qualifier on Monday and Tuesday September 26 & 27th, 2022. St. Mary's High School and Key School co-hosted the Championship with the Annapolis Yacht Club in their Fleet of J22s. Six teams from MDISA League competed for the top 3 qualifying spots. Team weigh in, rigging of the boats, and dock call was approximately around 3:00 PM and Harbor Start was at 4:15 PM. The Race Committee completed 6 races in a short 2 hours. Winds ranged from 8-14 knots throughout the Championship with temperatures in the mid 60s and lower 70s. Congratulations to the top three schools for qualifying for the 2022 Fall MASSA Keelboat Championship hosted by United States Naval Academy on October 1-2nd, 2022. A big congratulations goes out Severn High School (Admirals) for winning the 2022 MDISA Keelboat Qualifier Championship title! There name will be engraved on the Annapolis HS Keelboat Trophy presented by Annapolis Yacht Club and J-World.

St. Mary's and Key Schools would like to thank the Annapolis Yacht Club's Waterfront Staff (Dockmasters, Race Management Team, and Jr. Fleet Staff) for hosting the event in their club's Fleet of J22s. A special thanks to our chief scorer & PRO Robert Lippincott, AYC Junior Sailing Director and our Race Committee Volunteers (Hollis Barth - AYC Assistant Junior Sailing Director).
