Great turnout with 23 boats from all 6 New Orleans area high school teams. Although it was a very pleasant day with bright sunshine and temps in the 70s, the conditions on the water were a bit challenging. We were only able to complete two races before the 12:00 lunch break. Winds were north and very light, but due to strong northerly winds overnight, the Lake was very choppy. At times, the wind dipped below 5mph, and never rose about 8mph. We resumed resumed racing at 1:00. The wind was still light and shifted to the Northwest as the afternoon went on. The lake did calm down substantially making the light air conditions easier to handle. Three more races were completed in the afternoon.
