Wooden Shoe Tier 3

Summary

Saturday, September 21:

We started the day with a postponement because of very light wind (1 mph) and an expected 75 degree windshift. The big shift did not happen, but the wind did increase as the day went on (6-8mph). It was a beautiful sunny day with lots of powerboat traffic on our end of the lake.

We were able to get 2 A rotations and 1 B rotation in before the Great Republic freighter cleared the west end of Lake Mac. Boats stayed near our floating docks while the ship passed. It was the first time for many sailors seeing a 194 metre bulk carrier pass by, by about the distance of a football field away! Once it passed, we completed the B rotations but did not have time to complete another set.

Many thanks to our PRO Scott Corder and Lisa Corder, Markset boat of Roger Gamache, Lou Nykamp, and Eric Bert, Coach Michael Norris, Kelly Bannasch and the other coaches who were out on the water guarding our race course :) and making a quality race experience for our 17 teams! Thanks also to Blair Nykamp and Stephanie Chrisman for their work scoring and helping to manage the ground activities.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
