11 teams from Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Florida competed in 4 races of fleet racing comprised of two divisions (A and B). Winds were light and oscillating from the north. In mid-afternoon, the wind died out to the point that races had to be postponed and boats towed in to shore. At that point, races completed were: 1A, 2A, 1B, 2B, and 3A. When wind filled in again later, the race committee began again with race 3B, and also completed race 4A and 4B. Though 11 races were intended, 4 races made the regatta.
