Racing started promptly on Saturday, April 30, with the warning for Race 1A going off at 10:15 am. After that timely start, the day proved tricky with the AP going up at 10:56 am and the A teams waiting on the water for wind for over an hour before they were sent back to shore. The breeze looked to be picking up and the B teams were sent out for their first race, but had to be sent back in after an hour. Finally, at 3:00 pm the B teams were sent out and were able to sail race 1B. In order to take advantage of the wind and in the interest of saving time and getting as many races in as possible, it was decided to skip race 2 for both the A and B teams, and send the A teams out to race 3A and 4A. That accomplished, A teams returned to shore, and the B teams were sent out. They were able to finish race 3B around 6:00 pm, and racing was done for the day. A huge thank you to PRO Matt Bounds and Chief Judge Mike Kaspar for all their work on a long and trying day waiting for wind. Hoping for better racing conditions on Sunday.
Overcast skies but steady medium breeze for day two. Congratulations to top 3 finishers, Lake Forest, Latin School and Kettle Moraine!
