NESSA Women's Championship (R Herreshoff Trophy)

Sunday, May 8:

16 teams and a fair number of mother's showed up at the Mass Maritime facility on Great Herring Pond for the 29th running of the NESSA Rebecca Herreshoff Women's Championship. PRO Andrew Nugnes and Dave Fallon ran off 8 races in each division in a puffy, shifty 10-15 kt Southerly, allowing many lead changes and spectacular viewing from the 3rd floor porch on the boathouse. Mass Maritime Head Coach Dave Halberstadt not only hosted but acted as Chief Judge with Barnstable coach Mike Hersey, Bishop Stang's Jonathan Pope and BB&N coachJeff Hodess acting as judges to hear 6 protests and 2 requests for redress. Congratulations to Portsmouth Abbey, North Kingstown, The Hotchkiss School and St Georges School.
