South Points #7

Twenty two teams came to the US Sailing Center Martin County for SAISA South Points 7. Six races were contested in each division on the Indian River Lagoon in a puffy northerly breeze. There were several delays resulting from a team no show, a variety of breakdowns, and a team incorrectly rotating. The fleet of club 420s were outfitted with matched bow numbers from the sailing center, and spent the day sailing windward leeward courses with an extended offset leg and gate to minimize fleet interaction. Congratulations goes out to the Pine View School for placing first, finishing 16 points ahead of second placed HB Plant High School. Two protests were heard as well as one request for redress were heard, resulting in two disqualifications and the request for redress was denied.

A special thanks to all the volunteers, coaches and staff from the Sailing Center that made for this event possible, completing 24 races on the day.
