DCDS Team Race 4/8

We started our day as we welcomed our travel teams, Spring Lake and Rocky River from Ohio. Six teams raced with 12 420's and we completed 3 full rounds, 45 races.

The weather 48 hours before, left our grounds, docks and boats, in poor condition after suffering high winds, so we needed to manage that before preparing for our regatta.

Starting out cold with light winds, we set our course outside the cove. As the day continued,the sun came out and there was a nice steady 7-8 knot wind. The course was stable and changed very little, and racing continued until 5pm.

We enjoyed meeting new friends,sharing lunch together, racing. 4 of the 6 teams were a mixed team, 9 schools were represented. It was great practice for the upcoming pre-quailfier in Ohio.

The Senior Sailors were honored, awards presented, and we were happy to have help from our visiting teams members, sailors, parents and coaches as well.

Congratulations to West Bloomfield MIXED, including, Groves, St. Mary's, and Bloomfield Hills, taking 1st overall.
