NESSA Herreshoff Qualifier- Coast Guard Academy

Summary

Saturday, April 29:

A light southwesterly greeted the sailors upon arrival and racing got underway shortly after 1030. The breeze started off around 8-10 knots and shifted from the southwest to west-southwest and got light. After shifting the course around a couple of times the breeze settled in for the last few races and we saw puffs in the mid-teens. The regatta was sailed in the Academy's fleet of Z420's. Six races were completed in each division using W4's and W3's. There were no protests or breakdowns.

A huge thanks to CGA Offshore Sailing Coach Kevin Dooley for serving as PRO and sailing team members Becky Edmonds, Connor Oursler, Derek Silliman, Sarah Smith, Andy Widmeier, Caelan Juckniess and Philip Whittlesey for taking time out of preparing for final exams to run races and hear protests.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
