Twelve high schools, making up 18 NJISA sailing teams competed in the season closing Last Hurrah regatta. Under sunny skies and a light easterly breeze, the teams sailed an atypical "windward gate course" courtesy of Dave Magno's course selection to pay honor to the start of the America's Cup series.
Many teams had alumni return to sail for their teams which made for an interesting and entertaining mix of sailors on the water. Four W4 courses were sailed in each division with only one major course adjustment as the wind clocked right into a southerly for the last set of B Division races.
The Ranney Panthers ended the day on top again this week with 25 points, followed by the RFH Bulldogs in second with 33 points. The Southern Regional Rams ended the afternoon with 34 points to round out the top three places.
Teams on shore consumed 18 pizzas (16 last year) and went through two coolers of drinks while the sailing was going on. The teams returned to shore, put away the boats for the season and the day ended with announcing and handing out the NJISA Awards in recognition of many of the league's best sailors. (List will be posted online at the NJISA Wards page soon).
Thank you to all the teams for a great season, Dave Magno for volunteering week-after-week to set and maintain the courses, TRYC and OCC for the use of their facilities and fleet AND all the coaches, family and friends that continue to support NJISA sailing.
I wish everyone a great summer, on and off the water!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
