VISA CCS Leukemia Cup Fleet Race Regatta

Summary

Saturday, April 15:

On the varsity course, thirteen teams representing 8 schools arrived to a beautiful spring day on the Rappahannock River. Three schools were represented on the JV course. Winds presented often and repeated shifts ranging from East through south to west at 10-13 mph with higher gusts. Ernest efforts by the committee to keep the course fair to the wind were somewhat in vain.

Teams on the varsity course completed 5 races in each division on a w4/w3 course. JV teams completed 5 races on the same course.

Congratulations to Christchurch School Team one for taking first place on the varsity course. They were followed by Norfolk Collegiate School team one in second place and Christchurch School team two in third place.

On the JV course, Nansemond Suffolk Academy took first place, followed by Poquoson in second, and York in third place.

Thanks to Peter Kempe for patiently serving as PRO.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
