Falmouth Team Race

Summary

Saturday, March 31:

Sunny skies and shifty wind characterized SailMaine's first NESSA regatta of the spring season. Racing started in a light northerly. A 90 degree shift to the west resulted in unsettled wind which went to light for racing. After some delay the southerly filled in strong with breeze of 15 to 18 knots and racing was restarted. The southerly remained steady and settled in at 8 to 12 knots for the remainder of the day.

Five NESSA teams and four non-NESSA teams competed on the same race course. A special thanks to all the SailMaine coaches and away coaches who assisted with signal boat, finish boat and mark/safety boat duty.

Thank you to Maggie Robinson and her team of Falmouth parents who put on a great breakfast and spectacular lunch for all competitors.

Congratulations to Falmouth HS and Portland HS for their 4/0 and 3/1 record respectively.
