The 2019 NWISA Anacortes Silver Fleet Race was hosted out of Seafarer's Park in Anacortes, WA this weekend. Thank you to our PRO Kent Morrow and the many other volunteers who donated their time to help run this regatta. A WL course for the 25 boat Silver Fleet was set in the center of Fidalgo Bay, which made for a longer rotation but was a good distance from the channels and had good wind.
Saturday began with clear, sunny skies and a mildly shifty 5-7 knot northerly that eventually moved northeast. Due to the variable winds, there were multiple course adjustments but no major changes. 10 races total were completed in the Silver Fleet, 6 races in A division and 4 races in B division. No races were abandoned.
Anacortes, Fidalgo Bay, day 2 of the NWISA Anacortes Silver Fleet Race. The weather was similar to Saturday, sunny and clear with temp in the high 60s. A W3 course for Silver Fleet was set in the center of Fidalgo Bay.
The wind filled in from the NE, reaching a peak of 15 knots around 10:30am. A total of 8 races were completed: 3 races in A division and 5 races in B division. There were again minor course alterations to accommodate shifts, with a major move to follow a considerable western shift around 1pm. The final race of the day was a W4, but all other races were W3s. Again, no races were abandoned.
Sehome High School Team 1 took home first place, followed by Lincoln Oregon Team 1 in second place, and Lincoln Oregon Team 2 in third place. Congratulations to all of the Silver Fleet sailors. Thanks again to all of the many teams, parents, coaches, sailors and volunteers who helped make this a great regatta!
The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
