What a great day of sailing in Gig Harbor! A steady southerly persisted for most of the day ranging from 2-6 knots, which was usually plenty to get around the course in under 10 minutes. After a short postponement, 41 races were completed in 5 hours time, which is only two fewer races than the Olympia and Orcas regattas combined! The rotation included a complete round robin and final-four playoff, which concluded just as the wind died for the day.
Fun to see a bunch of recent Narrows alumni giving back and doing a top-notch job at it. Big thanks to Ryan Squires, Kara Ashpole, Peter Ryalls, and Bekah Ashpole who were probably the youngest race committee (minus the PRO) you'll ever see. Also big thanks to GHYC Jr. Sail, West Shore Marina, and CK for bringing 6 boats! Lastly, apologies to our neighbors downwind of the start line who listened to approximately 861 whistles today.
Congrats to Charles Wright on the win, and thanks to all the teams for coming out and sailing hard!
