We had nine teams today representing high schools across MN & WI. A full round of 36 races was completed in 10 - 18mph shifty conditions. The forecasted rain held off which allowed for efficient rotations to take place.
Thank you to our many wonderful onshore volunteers for their help today. Thank you to the visiting coaches for supporting our sailors and assisting as mark-set and safety boats. Thank you to our PROs Mark Sigel and Mike Hanley, finish crew Greg Bittle and Kaylene Kickhafer. Thank you to our excellent umpires for their calls on the water...Tim, Lars, Rod, Mike, Harrison, and Duane!
We plan to move into a gold & silver round tomorrow. All and all, it was a great day to be out on Lighthouse Island!
Breeze was up! Competitors saw wind 12mph gusting to 20mph from the NE on the main lake. RC, umpires, sailors, and coaches were all troopers as they braved the rain and cold temperatures to complete 16 quality races. Congratulations to Minnetonka, St Paul Academy and Southwest. Thank you to our visiting Wisconsin schools for making the trip.
