The highly anticipated 2019 NJISA Girls' Championship saw 10 schools, creating 17 total teams, compete for the right to be crowned female league champion on Wednesday afternoon at TRYC.
The girls battled not only the tough inter-league competition, but also the shifty breeze that kept the sailors on their toes. The 4 to 8 knot breeze shifted from the east to a slight southwest direction in the span of three hours, so the ladies had to look ahead for the next shift throughout the afternoon.
After seven W4 races, Southern Regional's Brielle Willoughby and Bridget Green emerged victorious with an impressive 11-point showing, winning the final four races. RFH's Michaela O'Brien and Amelia Buch finished second, while RFH's Colleen O'Brien and Morgan Rice were third.
One protest was filed and was disallowed on the basis of validity. Thank you to US Sailing judges Jan O'Malley, Tom Sollas and Pris Gettis for deciding the protest's validity.
Thanks to the boys of Christian Brothers Academy for running the regatta and to TRYC & OCC for providing the facility and fleet.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
