NJISA 2019 Icebreaker

Summary

Sunday, March 17:

After being delayed one day due to big breeze on Saturday, the 2019 NJISA Icebreaker Regatta saw close to ideal March conditions on Sunday.

Twelve schools, making up 13 teams, sailed 14 W4 races on the Toms River. The breeze bounced around between eight and 14 knots during the day, with some big shifts keeping the sailors honest on the race course.

Southern Regional emerged as the clear winner with consistent sailing, winning both A and B divisions. Second through fifth stayed tight throughout the day, but Rumson Fair Haven took second with a solid finish to the series. Toms River North, St. Augustine and Christian Brothers were separated by five points for third through fifth.

Many thanks to Dave Magno for serving as the PRO, John Paggi for running the mark set boat, and Clay Johnson for lending out his RIB for the day. Of course, thanks to TRYC and OCC for providing the facility and fleet.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
