NWISA North Regionals

Summary

Saturday, March 2:

Anacortes Sailing hosted the 2019 NWISA North Regionals at Seafarer's Park in Anacortes, WA this weekend. Thank you to all of the many volunteers who donated their time to help run this regatta, especially Fred Ableman the PRO.

Saturday began with clear, sunny skies and a 6-8 knot northerly that gradually built throughout the day. At around 3pm, with wind gusting to 17 knots, there were a number of capsizes and A Division was sent in after race 5A. The course was moved inland to be closer to the rotation dock, and when the wind decreased to 12 knots, B Division was sent out to sail a single race and close out the regatta.

A total of 10 races were run, five in each division. At the end of the day, Orcas High School Team 1 took home first place, followed by Ballard High School Team 1 in second place, and Sehome High School Team 1 and Garfield High School tied for third place. Congratulations to all of the sailors.

This was a great regatta first regatta of the spring season, completing 10 races with 18 teams and 86 sailors from the northern region of NWISA. Thanks again to all parents, coaches, sailors and volunteers who helped make this a great regatta!

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
