The 2019 NYISA-SE Spring League Fleet Race Championship had 9 schools compete for the chance to advance to the MASSA district level events.
As the day grew on, the breeze continued to build. The breeze was a steady 17 knots, but by the end of the 6-race series, we had gusts up to 29 knots. Each division completed 3 races between 11am and 1pm.
Unfortunately, due to the wind continuing to build, coaches gathered together to discuss the plan for the rest of the day and came to the conclusion to end racing for the day with safety being the first priority.
The top two teams have secured a berth in the MASSA Mallory Spring Fleet Race Championship in Annapolis, which is the qualifier for both the Mallory National Championship and the Phoebe King Memorial National Invitational. The next two teams will sail in the MASSA Silver Spring Championship at Washington College. Allocations will be finalized this week.
A big thanks to the regatta management team of John Everitt (SBS), MacKenzie McGuckin (WFC), Leslie Page (SBS), and John Brendel (WFC) for a fun day of sailing. Additionally, a bigger thanks to the Stony Brook School for being able to run the event on such short notice!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
