O'Day Qualifier - Bristol

Summary

Saturday, April 13:

Steady rain greeted 11 schools at Bristol Yacht Club, with South winds between 8 and 12 knots. Nine races in each division were sailed resulting in St. George’s School, North Kingstown High School, and The Prout School qualifying for the O’Day finals at The Hotchkiss School

Two protests and one redress were heard resulting in one DSQ, one disallowed and redress granted. Special thanks to Portsmouth Abbey School and coaches Jonathan Harley and Mariah Leffingwell for stepping up to host the qualifying regatta at the 11th hour as the Newport Marathon made sailing in Newport impossible. Special thanks for St. George’s School coach, Roy Williams, for assisting with scoring and shoreside logistics. In addition, Ace Bailey a St. George’s School volunteer for assisting in the start/finish boat all day. Thanks also to Chris Crane, Moses Brown coach for being the NESSA rep for the day.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
