Spring Fling Regatta

Summary

Sunday, May 5:

Seven teams joined us for a Sunday Funday this past Sunday for our Spring Fling Regatta & BBQ. The idea of our Sunday Funday Regattas is to offer low-key Corinthian sailing for all of the high school sailors in our area. It is a great opportunity for everyone both experienced and beginner to join in on the racing.

With cloudy skies, light rain, a sustained 10 knots and gusts up to the high teens, we ran 3 rotations (6 races) for each fleet. Moral was high through the entire day between the sea turtle marks, music during and between races, and the idea of a large BBQ after racing.

To wrap up the day all the teams and coaches came back to our building for a large BBQ, cake, candy, and card games. I think it's safe to say it was a fun Sunday Funday event and that everyone is looking forward to our last on of the season on May 19th for our SPRING into SUMMER Regatta & BBQ.

To join in on the Sunday Fun; call or email MacKenzie McGuckin from The WaterFront Center at 516-922-7245 or MacKenzie@theWFC.org.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
