Partly cloudy skies and waves up to 2 feet greeted 18 teams of sailors representing 12 Virginia Schools. Temperatures reached almost 50 but sailors were chilled by westerly winds in the upper teens with gusts to 30 mph, holding sometimes for periods of minutes, and making for more than a few capsizes.
Sailors completed 6 races in each of two divisions on a W-4 course. Christchurch Team 1 took first place followed by Norfolk Collegiate School Team 1 in second place and Christchurch School Team 2 in third place.
