Crisp spring temperatures in the low 40's and overcast skies greeted VISA sailors on Mill Creek in Hampton, VA. for the first regatta of the season. Winds were 8-10 mph with a couple of lulls down to 5 mph and gusts up to 15 mph from east of north clocking 30 degrees towards east. Seas were choppy at times.
Ten teams from 8 schools competed in 6 races in each of two divisions on a W-4 course. Kecoughtan High School captured first place, followed by Poquoson High School in second place, and Norfolk Collegiate school in third place.
There were no protests filed. A few capsizes resulted in DNS's, and one boat was awarded Breakdown.
