Teams reported for a 10:45 AM competitors meeting and launched for an 11:30 AM start. The weather was overcast with occasional showers and variable winds of around 5 to 7 knots SSW, which died and then moved ESE around 3:15PM, prompting a postponement and eventual course reset once the easterly filled in. A division completed 4 races, while B division completed 3 races, with the last race of the day ending by 4:45PM. Sailors did a great job dealing with the light and variable winds.
A lack of wind meant the 10:00AM planned start was postponed until 11:30PM when 3-5 knts of S wind came up. Races continued throughout the day in light and variable wind. The weather was cold and sunny with some large clouds that affected the wind conditions. The course was reset to match a NE wind around 1:00PM, and again reset for a N wind around 1:50PM. 21 teams competed, with each division completing 2 races for a total of 5 races per division for the regatta.
Congratulations to the Roosevelt Rough Riders in 1st place, the Gig Harbor Tides in 2nd Place and the Ballard Beavers in 3rd place. Congratulations also to the teams that qualified for a berth at fleet race districts. All of the teams and sailors did a great job at the first district-wide regatta of the Spring 2020 season.
