NP #2

Summary

Saturday, February 27:

Great day on and off the water and thanks to all the sailors, coaches, and support who made an effort to follow Covid Protocols. James Island YC made for a great venue to watch the racing and get plenty of the much missed sunshine! The weather was beautiful with a high in the mid 70s which meant we would get a seabreeze eventually. Race Committee tried to take advantage of the morning westerly but with the strong outgoing tide and a fighting seabreeze it never happened so it was a wait and see. It finally came in around 1 and filled in making for some great racing with 5 A and 5 B races in 7-12 knots from the south. We had Chamber of commerce conditions with great sailing, especially for Wando and Bishop Kinney who fought all day with Wando edging out BK for the second regatta of the season. Behind those two was a dogfight for 3rd with Hoggard, James Island, and Oceanside duking it out with the last set giving Oceanside the needed points to capture 3rd in the contest followed closely but JI and Hoggard. Racing ended in plenty of time for boats to get back to their berths at Charleston Community Sailing. Thanks to everyone who helped out on and off the water and travelled to Charleston to support High School Sailing.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
