Ohio State Championships

Summary

Saturday, April 24:

What a great day in Central Ohio with the largest State Championship ever in our short history! 21 teams from 18 schools descended on Columbus with one goal in mind: to take home the Ohio Cup!

East winds 5-10 knots made for some logistical challenges regarding getting back to the dock for boat rotations, but our Race Committee crew led by Gunnar Gode (NAHS Parent) made it look easy! All of our parent and Central Ohio coach helpers led the charge keeping racing going through the rain all day long. We completed 8 races in each division with no breakdowns and only 1 protest (although plenty of spinning could be observed on the race course!)

When the spray settled, we crowned St. Ignatius (OH) as the 2021 Ohio State Champion, winning A, B and overall by a large margin. They were followed by Bay Village and Olentangy Liberty. Special congratulations to our 11 graduating seniors sailing in their final State Championship regatta!

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
