Hosted once again by Sail Black Rock, 10 teams from Connecticut, and one visiting from New York, competed in the Z420s of Fairfield and Sacred Heart Universities. The conditions remained constant throughout the day, with a steady Easterly breeze of 10-15 knots. Due to rough conditions on the sound, the race course was set up in the protected area of Black Rock Harbor. Each division competed in seven races on the course stretching as far as possible between the two land barriers. RC was able to settle into one course for most of the event, with a small adjustment before the final sets of races as the wind shifted slightly North. The RC staff consisted of volunteers from numerous programs, offering up assistant coaches to help oversee the event; Thanks to Dave, Sean, John, Anne, Henry, Emilie, Oliver, Andy, Geoff, William, Cass, Warren, AJ, TJ, and the other coaches who stepped in to assist in the various needs of the day. Congratulations to Hotchkiss, who won the event after a consistent performance by both of their divisions. Thank you to Stony Brook for making the long trip and raising the level of competition; Congratulations on a second place finish.
