MA High School State Champs

Summary

Wednesday, June 1:

A cold and rainy day on the Charles with temps in the 50's and 4-8 knot ESE that swung as far left as NE before winding back to settle in the due East. Frequent rain showers passed through but the competitors kept great attitudes and played hard while still keeping a fun spirit of NESSA competition.

Unregistered NESSA-Devo Team 1 is Quincy/North Quincy Unregistered NESSA-Devo Team 2 is The Winsor School

Races were run by MIT Sailing Staff with Stew Craig and Hannah Agate handling registration, rigging, breakdowns and other shoreside duties, Co-head varsity coach Mike Kalin taking finishes and Co-head varsity coach Matt Lindblad running starts.

The regatta will conclude tomorrow with 6 races scheduled to complete the rotation.

Thursday, June 2:

Another day of nice Easterly winds with regular shifts from ENE to ESE. The fleet managed the shifts well, tacking on the headers and staying on the long tack toward the mark. A division sailed outer trapezoids while B division sailed inner traps.

Wellesley eeked out a one point win over Winchester with Sharon in third.

Thanks again to MIT staff Stew Craig, Hannah Agate, Mike Kalin and Matt Lindblad for running the races.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
