The day started out promising with the winds filling in from the northside and the rains holding off. There were 22 teams from Michigan, Indiana and Illinois racing today. We got two races in for both A and B fleets before thunder shut us down for 40 minutes. The A teams headed back out in the rain, the winds did a 160 degree shift behind the storm and by the time the course was reset and that race started, the winds died even more. The A´s were in their third or fourth leg of their race (because of time, they were going to do one race, then rotate the B´s in for one more race) when a freighter appeared coming down Lake Mac toward the channel, basically running through our course. The wind had died down to about 3mph, it was 3:20 at this point, so we decided to abandon the race and call it a day.
