Racing started at 9:15 with average winds of 9-11kts from SW. After 10:15 the wind started to shift to a SSW direction to settle at a S direction by 12 pm with average wind speeds of 7-9 knots. Lulls in the 4-6 range started to become more frequent around 12:15pm. After completing 8 races and the wind dying out, RC decided to send the fleet in. Air temperature ranged from the mid 70s to the mid 80s. Water temperature 70 degrees.
There was one protest involving three boats clustered at a mark rounding which was sustained as a rule 18.2(b) violation and resulted in Grafton Team 3 earning a DSQ in race 3.
Kecoughtan High School took first place, followed by Nansemond Suffolk Team 2 in second place and Nansemond Suffolk Team 3 in third place.
Thanks to PRO Walter McKenna and the rest of the race committee for running a very nice event.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
