The 2022 PCISA Gold Pacific Coast Championship was hosted by Mission Bay Yacht Club in San Diego, California. Thank you to our PROs Doug Hart & Jimmer Montgomery, Regatta Chair Chris Wright, PCISA Executive Director Michael Segerblom and the many volunteers who donated their time to help with the running of the regatta.
Saturday began with hot temperatures, clear blue skies, and breeze averaging about 8 knots in a westerly direction. Winds were consistent throughout the day with some shifts, but stayed between a westerly and WSW breeze direction. Winds ranged from 7 to 13 knots. Racing continued until 6:30pm on Saturday completing 24 races, 12 for each division.
Sunday began with hot temperatures, clear blue skies, and breeze averaging about 8 knots in a westerly direction. Conditions were very similar to the previous day. Winds were consistent throughout the day with some shifts, but stayed between a westerly and WSW breeze direction. Winds ranged from 8 to 12 knots. Racing continued until 3:30pm on Sunday completing 16 races, 8 for each division. Total of 40 races - 20 in each fleet - over the weekend.
Mater Dei High School took home first place, followed by Point Loma High School in second place, and Newport Harbor High School in third. Congratulations to all sailors!
