Regatta Summery: SAISA Fleet Race Champs 4/2-4/3 @ Eckerd College Saturday we saw sunny clear skies high of 77. We had beautiful sailing conditions with a steady 10-12 from the South/South East. Conditions were stable until 3:30 when thunderstorm system came through forcing us to end with Race 8A. Immaculata La Salle High School finished the day in the lead with 47 points, St. Thomas Aquinas High School in a close second with 51 points and Ransom Everglades School in 3rd with 74 points.
Sunday was overcast with a few small sprinkles of rain in the morning but in the afternoon, the clouds cleared and the sun was shining. Wind conditions were very light with no stable breeze until around 10 when we got a W/SW 5-8. We were able to resume the races starting with 7B after only 20 minute postponement. Breeze started to settle from the South and was light but stable until 3:30, when thunderstorm system came through. We finished 12 races in each division. Immaculata La Salle High School held their lead to win the regatta with 71 points. Thomas Aquinas High School came in at second with 113 points and Ransom Everglades School close behind with 114 points. Immaculata La Salle High School, Thomas Aquinas High School and Ransom Everglades School have qualified for the ISSA Mallory double handed national championship June 4-5 at Mission Bay Yacht Club in San Diego.
