Seventeen single division girls teams representing eleven area high schools met at YSV on Mill Creek to compete for the 11th annual VISA Girls Championship PRO'd by Allen Kilgore. Allen has been the driving force in establishing and running girls championships in both VISA and MASSA. We are honored to have him back this year.
We had Champagne conditions for the event with the wind blowing 8-15 mph and gusts to 20 out of WSW shifting to due W mid-event. Skies were clear and seas were flat. Air temperature was around 80 degrees.
Ten W-4 races were completed. Several protests were heard, but only two had results affecting scoring. One team was given a DSQ, and one took a RAF. Norfolk Collegiate School Team One earned a well deserved first place. Followed by Nansemond Suffolk Academy in second place, the Hague School in third place and and Norfolk Collegiate Team Two in fourth place. These top 4 teams have earned berths to the MASSA Girls Championship in Annapolis on May 7, 2022.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
