VISA welcomed 10 teams from 8 schools to our first regatta of the season. Sailors were greeted by partly cloudy skies, balmy temps reaching the high 70's and 47 degree water. Seas were choppy and the wind, well the wind started at SSE about 10mph with gusts in the 20's. By 1:30 it had built to 20mph SE with gusts at about 30, the regatta was called, and it was then that the boats toppled like dominoes coming in.
Despite the early end, we accomplished 40 team races on a digital N course. Scoring and rotations were done using the Sail100 Swiss League Excel program (attached on the Notice board herein), and later copied as individual races into Techscore. Tie break rules in this program vary from Appendix D and are also attached in the Notice Board.
Norfolk Academy took first place with 7 wins, followed by Norfolk Collegiate School in second with 6 wins and Christchurch School Team 1 in third place with 5 wins. NSA lost the tiebreaker for third resulting in a fourth place title with 5 wins.
